After launching his musical career producing electro house with wobbly bass before swiftly moving onto his own breed of full on tribal tech-house not unlike the sounds of Worthy's Anabatic label or San Francisco's Dirtybird, the now London-based Riva Starr has come round with influences from world music to more techno sounds. The inspirations for his album have allowed him to experiment more and unsatisfied with just stopping there, he has launched his own label Snatch! releasing the likes of France's experimental jazz tech piece dOP, Berlin's Thomas Schumacher, Donk Boys, David Keno, and Santos. Dazed catch up with the Starr before he plays at the Snatch! launch party at T Bar this Friday...

How do you pick your artists?

If the track is good and I play it out and the people go nuts then it’s the right one for Snatch! Again you won’t find just one style released on my label... Everything good can find a seat on the Snatch! train... Obviously I m the boss and the main requirement is that I like the track!

Why the name?

Erm I like the sound.. And I'm a big fun of Guy Ritchie... plus it defines the approach of the label. Open to influences and ready to reinvent sounds and ideas

Is there something in common that runs through all your signings or a sound you're looking for?

Well, sound quality is important... And good arrangements ideas.... funk, freshness, creativity... Mad mood... Surprised faces on the dancefloor while you are playing a Snatch! tune are priceless.

Why T Bar for your launch party?

Because it’s one of my fave London venues... Had such a big fun last time I played there.. Soundsystem is massive and the crowd is open minded!

What were the inspirations that went into your album?

Basically I wanted to produce a club album putting in it all the kind of stuff that I like playing in the club... I listen to a lot of different kind of music.. And you can definitely hear it on my cd... I really love world music and jazz, big deep bass and crazy samples!

What can we expect from Snatch! next

Just slamming tunes! Forthcoming stuff and remixes from Pirupa, Ramon Tapia, Tapesh, Steve Mac, dOP, Thomas Schumacher, Santos, LouLou Players, Remerc and so on...!

This summer, it looks like Riva Starr [a] is going to need to find a new beverage. His debut album, ‘If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade’, has created so much buzz around the Neapolitan producer that, it’s safe to say, not many lemons are coming his way these days. Can you wring something thirst-quenching out of hit records?

Not content with exposing quality club music to millions of people via her BBC Radio 1 show, the delightful DJ Heidi has launched her own travelling club event series called The Jackathon.

With two successful dates already down at Berlin’s high profile Watergate club, Heidi will showcase the coolest man in dance music, Seth Troxler, at Paris’ Le Régine’s club this Saturday. The Jackathon (featuring Heidi plus guests Claude VonStroke, Jamies Jones, and Matt Tolfrey) touches down at Manchester’s Sankeys on May 2, and then on May 28, Heidi, Solomun, and Benedict Bull jack their way into London’s T-Bar. (Further dates are listed on Heidi’s MySpace page.)

As Heidi explains, “The idea behind The Jackathon kind of came about through my radio show In New DJs We Trust on Radio 1. I just wanted to showcase the music I played and the DJs I’ve had as guests and bring it to a dancefloor.

“I was tired of going out to clubs and being bored with the music. I just really wanted to see people dancing and freaking out like the people in the video I’ve made.” - From Beatportal

Zed Bias is Dave Jones: producer, DJ and a prolific innovator from deep within the UK music scene. Zed lurks behind as many production names as he has musical styles. He’s Maddslinky for west London’s Sirkus records and one half of Phuturistix With Injekta . With Italy’s DJ Rocca he’s Daluq and alongside MC Juiceman and Simba has formed The Henchmen. To date Zed’s completed over 65 remixes. It’s all a far cry from his days as a local rare groove DJ.

Zed Bias is best known for his single "Neighbourhood", which reached #25 in the UK charts in July 2000. He has remixed artists ranging from Gabrielle, Kosheen, Maxim, Pharoahe Monch and the Streets. He runs the Sidestepper Recordings label. Zed Bias' releases which explore a more experimental or progressive side of the 2-step garage sound have been hailed as a crucial element in the establishment of dubstep as a definable sound or genre.

Eclectic house hero Riva Starr can do no wrong these days. After unleashing his debut album If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade on Made To Play earlier this year, he was then snapped up by Defected to mix their Miami album and play around the world for them (including at Pacha Ibiza). Not many artists can cover bases like that.

The next step in his plan for world domination is the long-awaited launch of his own label, Snatch! Records, home to housey and techy grooves of all sorts and with that sample-heav ethos that he so loves.

DJ PIERRE

DJ Pierre is one of the hardest working men in the music business. After more than a decade of producing innovative and cutting edge underground house music, the master creator is at the height of his burgeoning career, and shows no signs of slowing down.

He has become one of the most in-demand producers and DJ's. He's constantly sought after in Europe, playing regularly in Germany, the UK, Italy and France. And he's a staple at the clubs in New York City.

In the next few months, Pierre plans to launch his own house music label, along with an R&B one. He'll also continue his successful work with Twisted America Records, Strictly Rhythm and the other handful of labels with whom he has become synonymous. And he only expects the pace to continue getting faster, both in his work. With LaVette, who co-writes most of his material, he hopes to focus more on vocal tracks, as well as the house sound for which he has become famous.

MARSHALL JEFFERSON

Marshall Jefferson is one of the founding fathers of house music as it is known today. Born in Chicago in 1959, Marshall was a central figure in the development of the Chicago house scene and produced seminal house anthems including ‘Move Your Body’, ‘7 Ways To Jack’ and ‘Open Our Eyes’.

He has worked with the best in the business, from fellow founding father Frankie Knuckles to Roy Davis Jr., Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, Felix Da Housecat and Lil Louis. Marshall has had a leading hand in the growth of the acid and deep house movements and even today continues to evolve these genres amid dooms-dayers predicting their collective demise.

THE TWO BEARS

The Bears – Raf Rundell and Joe Goddard – first began crossing paths in DJ Booths. Straight Outta Brompton (well, Putney) Joe spends his time away from The 2 Bears as a producer, remixer, solo-artist and one fifth of an obscure outfit called Hot Chip; fellow Sarf Londoner Raf divides his time between club promotion, DJ outings as Greco-Roman Soundsystem, radio show hosting and artiste management.

The pairs DJ booth banter, soon led to a shared enthusiasm for house music and vague plans for a musical collaboration. Raf’s existence at the music industry coal face and first hand experience of the business’ financial travails, would make Sade’s When Am I Going To Make A Living a suitably irreverent subject for their first musical foray. So began several months of hanging out, making music ‘for the fun of it’ and ‘portamental’ arguments about obscure synths, that would wind up forming the 'Follow The Bears EP'.

Characterised by the hitherto untapped vocal stylings of Raf himself (Joe: ‘I didn’t know Raf could actually sing!’), the Bears have already received radio support from Annie Mac, Rob da Bank, Giles Peterson and Toddla T, drawn towards The 2 Bears 21st Century take on house, disco and everything in between.

RADIO SHOW – The 2 Bears have a weekly radio show ‘Follow The Bears’ on Ministry Of Sound Radio. During which you can expect to hear ‘Bear’ tunes, ‘bare’ tunes, some ridiculous anecdotes, and some extremely skilled (unskilled) technical radio know-how…!

Cooly G (Merrisa Campbell) comes from Brixton. She’s often placed within the growing UK funky movement, and her tracks almost always include a dancefloor-ready bassline. Yet she wouldn’t describe herself as part of the scene, even though she used to rap for funky producer Fingaprint.
Her dad had his own studio which she used to play about with, so she’d learned to DJ at the age of seven and was teaching music technology to men three times her age two months after she left school.

‘I’m more minimal tech, bit of dubstep, bit of this and that. Funky to me sounds fruity; it’s quick little beats and a little bit of vocal. I go deeper, I spend a lot of time on the production’.

Her debut, ‘Narst / Love Dub’ 12”/digital EP is released on Hyperdub records.

JAMIE JONES

Jamie Jones is best known for the deep minimal track 'Amazon'. Released on Dan Ghenacia's Freak n'Chic output at the start of the year, the 12" has since become the label's biggest-selling single. 'Amazon' proved to be especially popular with the Germans, popping up on Tiesfchwarz's 'Fabric 29', closing out the RA.005 podcast by Kiki, and Steve Bug's 'Bugnology 2' compilations.

As a DJ, Londoners will recognise Jamie from his Sunday afterhours sessions here at TB/R and also his DJsCanDance parties where he plays what he describes as "a mixed bag of mainly deep house and techno", appealing to both the Crosstown Rebels mob and those who like their beats and bleeps served up on M_nus.

These days Jamie is also a regular at Fabric, touted as "one to watch" by the club's booking manager.

Having met in the early 90's, not long after they'd started discussing music Tom and Andy were promoting their first London club night together.

Called 'Captain Sensual at the Helm of Groove Armada' it took place at the Gardening Club 2, Covent Garden, getting off to a shaky start.

However it was this night in 1995 which led to a series of parties, a band and eventually a festival. All of these grew from strength to strength and continue to thrive in their individual rights to this day.

Both seasoned musicians before they met, it didn’t take much before their respective backgrounds as live performers combined with the energy of Berlin to spawn an electronic music group with an unprecedented take on the creative process.

After working alongside one another at a label, the two began producing and experimenting in their own free time, playing over ten live gigs before their first record release.

This musical world-view—that production and live performance have a symbiotic relationship—has guided Exercise One on their journey from underground sensation to heavy-weights in the Berlin electronic music scene, with their evolution as artists going hand-in-hand with their development a live act.

RIOTOUS ROCKERS

Riotous Rockers formed after a chance meeting on the dance floor of Fabric Room One in the summer of 2003. Unbeknown to Pete and Boggy they would both meet again in their home town of Nottingham a few months later to discover they shared a mutual love of all things Electro, Pop, Disco, and Rave.

The DJ partnership was truly formed when they were given the chance to play at Nottingham's most hedonistic night, Liars Club.

Mixing up as many styles as they could lay their hands on, they complimented promoter Ricky Haleys inspired bookings (which over the years has seen the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Scissors Sisters, Bloc Party and The Klaxons play long before they became household names).

Riotous Rockers soon became a regular fixture at the club.

Word of these explosive DJ sets travelled fast, and the Rockers found regular guest slots at the cream of U.K club land, playing regularly for people like: Bugged Out, Fabric, Stealth, Together, Chibuku & Wax:On.

Work took the pair further a field, throughout Europe and beyond, playing in; Ibiza, New York, Milan, Paris, Amsterdam, and Barcelona.

T B/R welcomes the Rockers, who play upstairs on the 30th.

2020Soundsystem was started as a new way of playing mixing live instruments with electronics by Ralph Lawson, original DJ at the legendary Back To Basics club in Leeds, and Danny 'dubble d' Ward.

Tired of a jaded club scene they sought a different way to entertain and excite. By weaving live instruments into Lawsons DJ set, they transformed the clubbing experience into something new by giving the best of both worlds: the continuity and diversity of a DJ mix with the raw energy and excitement of seeing a live band.

Manchester’s Danny Ward loves drums. It’s more of an obsession really. He can talk for hours about legendary jazz drummers like Art Blakey, Philly Joe Jones, and Billy Higgins, even though he has never seen any of them play live.

In the early 90s when every club kid pined to be a DJ, Ward played percussion at club nights such as Back To Basics in Leeds, where he showed that live drums from creative hands could actually improve a DJ’s groove.

It was in Leeds that he first met DJ Ralph Lawson, who released two nu jazz albums by Ward on his label 2020 Vision.

When Lawson needed a drummer for his band 20:20 Soundsystem, he didn’t have to look far as Ward had already played for groups like Chapter And The Verse, Gilad Atzmon, Jim Mullen, Rae & Christian, AIM, and The Pharcyde.

As Ward got deeper into house music, he created Moodymanc as an outlet for his deep and soulful house productions, and it is this alias that may make Ward a star of the dance music world yet...

MC Guru, whose real name was Keith Elam, of Gangstarr fame - releasing 6 super influencial albums between 1989 and 2003 - has died aged 43.

Elam suffered a cardiac arrest in February after surgery to treat his cancer and briefly lapsed into a coma. He died on Monday morning.

A statement released by his PR company contained a letter written by Guru in his final days:

"I have suffered with this illness for over a year," he wrote. "I have exhausted all medical options."

"I write this with tears in my eyes, not of sorrow but of joy for what a wonderful life I have enjoyed and how many great people I have had the pleasure of meeting."

Bow your heads. A legend has left the building.

Shortly after Mark befriended Derrick Carter in 1988 at a record store in Chicago, his passion for House music, and sharing it with the world, exploded.

Mark experimented with a deeper style, dropping De La Soul, disco classics and other stuff that wasn’t being played in the main rooms of nightclubs. While exploring his love for the purist forms of House Music, Mark developed his trademark style: Mushroom Jazz; acid jazz infused with the West Coast’s jazzy, organic productions along with urban beats.

Fans embraced Mark’s downtempo style so much that he started a weekly Mushroom Jazz club night in San Francisco with Patty Ryan. In 3 short years, the club established a fanatical, cult-like following for Farina and the Mushroom Jazz sound. When the doors closed, Farina continued the tradition by releasing a series of Cds, “Mushroom Jazz”.

Since then, Mark has been traveling the globe performing 100s of shows, to over one million club goers, a year. His House sets take fans on journeys to the jazzy side of Chicago House mixed San Fran style. Some of these sets have been known to last up to 8 hours. And sometimes you’ll find Mark playing in two different rooms at the same party, showcasing his range of rocking the big room sound to the uber-chill.

Farina’s taste making skills continue to turn the heads of crowds worldwide and consistently draw new fans to his style of chunky–funky rhythms and deep underground house. URB, MUZIK and BPM Magazines have all had him on their Top DJ’s In The World lists.

Ben Rymer was one third of legendary Sheffield electro-pop pioneers Fat Truckers, who’s groundbreaking debut album released on Gigolo Records, was one of the most influential releases of the new millennium.

‘The First Fat Truckers Album Is for Sale’ was released in 2003, and was a breath of fresh air against the moribund house scene which prevailed at the time. Containing the classic songs “Teenage Daughter”, “Superbike” and “Multiplex”, the combination of no bullshit northern humour, social commentary, and the band’s ear for a bloody good rave tune, made Fat Truckers the latest in a long line of brilliant electronic music acts to come out of the Steel City.

It also pitched Fat Truckers into a headlong battle with White Stripes for the NME’s coveted Album of the Week, with the Truckers narrowly losing out 9/10 to Jack and Megan’s 10/10 for `Elephant’.

While it may be fair to say the bands didn’t follow the same career trajectory thereafter is possibly true, but Fat Truckers had more than a helping hand in changing the musical landscape at the start of the decade, as anyone who saw their legendary live performances will undoubtedly testify.

Following the demise of Fat Truckers, Ben joined forces with Henry Riton to form Gucci Soundsystem, and together the pair set about re-energising London club land with their infamous Druzzi’s Baltimore Rave Club night, which grew out of a Soho basement, to take over Shoreditch with guests James Murphy, 2ManyDJs, Erol Alkan, The Rapture and many more.

This led to Rymer DJing regularly at Bugged Out and Fabric in London, a residency at Weekend in Berlin, Space in Ibiza, Le Baron in Paris, The Arches in Glasgow and lots more… Last year saw Ben take a more behind the scenes role in music, championing mute records XX-Teens, in a “shouting loudly in your underpants” style of management.

Since then Rymer has got back behind the mixing desk, with his production fingerprints to be found all over Disco Bloodbath’s highly sought-after remixes of Franz Ferdinand, White Lies, Little Boots, The Aliens, Tommie Sparks, Howling Bells and many more.

The irony of silently siphoning cash from the same major labels he used to bait is presumably not lost on Rymer, in fact I think he positively revels in it!

The latest instalment in Rymer’s colourful music career has seen him set up a label with Disco Bloodbath cohort Damon Martin named Channel 83 after the mind altering medium depicted in David Kronenburg’s cult classic Videodrome.

Already in 2010 , Ben has released the Italo inspired La Trinciatrice on Serge Santiago’s Arcobaleno Imprint and it has just been announced that he is to be made a resident at one of Londons best clubs, The T Bar.

Ben Rymer hits T Bar on March 21st alongside the likes of Ashley Beedle and Moodymann.

Music always played a significant role in the Martinez home: the boys grew up playing a variety of instruments - keyboards, bass, and mainly drums and percussion. They'd play in church, at home, in various bands around the Bronx. It was their father, a veteran of disco-era clubs like the Paradise Garage, that turned them on to disco and house, via radio programs like Timmy Regisford's Kiss FM show and CDs that he'd bring home in an attempt to expand the boys' musical worldview.

In 2009 they are already booked to play at the festival Electric Daisy Carnival (Los Angeles), Ministry Of Sound (London), Pacha (Ibiza), Social Club (Paris), Singapore (Zouk) and will also travel to Miami, Sao Paulo, Rio, Milan, Berlin, Tokyo, Lisbon, Amsterdam and beyond.

The Martinez Brothers kicked off a new chapter in January, 2007, when Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity label released "My Rendition," a powerhouse of a record that won them a whole new world of acclaim.

They have gone on to produce their ironically named followup “Debbie Downer” out in January 2009 with Berlin based Greek producer Argy and “Where’s Mr. Brown?” a hissing, techno track.

Both sides have gained much acclaim from DJ’s such as Josh Wink, Dubfire (Deep Dish), Loco Dice and Sebo K.

Joining TMB on the lineup is Berlin based producer Daniel Steinberg. This is going to be BIG.

With a similarly eclectic approach to programming come Hot Blood duo Fillary & Butterfield, who having co-founded Lovebox in 2002 have regularly been playing as the Lovebox All-Stars, flying the flag for the festival's underground dance roots.

Finishing up the line-up in fine style with his groove laden energetic mix of techno and house is Jaded resident Mouj, alongside the upcoming Matt Synthia who represents the next generation of DJs familiar with their history and comfortable with crossing genres to devastating dancefloor effect.

Matt has resided with Turbo Recordings after being seen by Tiga at T-Bar in London. His residencies also at T Bar and Bugged Out! have allowed him to tour the world with his trademark sound of Electronic House and Techno through to New Wave, Acid House and Disco.

In production, as well as alone, Matt has been part of the duo Clouded Vision, formed alongside long term studio partner Steve Cook. Their initial remixes on Turbo Recordings, Mute and Process Recordings gave them the success and drive for Matt to set up Clouded Vision Recordings. They have since produced 2 EPs and are currently signing other forthcoming acts. Clouded Vision have received great support from stellar artists including Ivan Smagghe, The Revenge, Tensnake, Erol Akan, Photonz, Tiga, Cosmo Vitelli and Luke Solomon to name a few.

While Clouded Vision brings out the slower tempo and disco aspects of Matt’s style, his peak time tech house sounds produced alongside Hypercolour Records label boss “Alex Jones” have pushed him towards the main slot and late night set in many clubs, where he is seen at his best. Their combined work on a remix for Peaches on XL records has already been played on Radio 1’s Essential Mix and supported by Andrew Weatherall, Laurant Garnier, Tiga and Paul Woolford. Further remixes have followed on Turbo Recordings, Kitsune and Wax:On and again have been played by DJ's across the globe.

Matt's first solo productions, characterised as late night Techno with a propulsive and percussive energy will be available throughout 2010 with an EP on Wax:On's label, Turbo labelmate Sei A's label "Seinan Recordings" and a remix upcoming on Southern Fried.

For Christmas this year, T BAR are giving all their loyal supporters that have helped them settle in and feel at home in their new location of Houndsditch, 12 carefully selected, beautifully packaged, fun-filled festive gifts. These are of course, the return of 12 Days of T BAR. This will be the final round of parties that T BAR maintains its free entry policy. Commencing from New Year 2010 T BAR will begin to charge after 11pm on weekend nights Friday and Saturday.

Wrong Meeting kicks off the Christmas run in style with British techno legend Andrew Weatherall and the man who stands at the crossroads between glamorous Parisian hype and musical integrity, Ivan Smagghe. If anyone thought this would be an impossible act to follow, the Freak n Chic crew bring to the table Dan Ghenacia with his his distinctive intelligent-techno-meets-deep-house sound and Varoslav, the DJ/producer whizzkid who's worked with the A to Z of young French electronic talent. Baise Main have been getting pretty comfortable in the T BAR surroundings hosting some memorable nights over the last few months and will be celebrating Danton Eeprom's debut album release with Clement Meyer, who is today regarded as one of the best newcomers of the Parisian scene.

Phonica will be bringing the family down to celebrate their 6th Birthday with two rooms of festive fun, including Lauhaus, David Labeij (live) and Phonica All Stars, followed by Shoplifter who are set to throw one hell of a Christmassy cosmic party with Craig Richards and Jamie Jones and a special unannounced guest. For the first time T BAR will be staging a film night, just enough down time before Gay Bingo will be calling a full house with a No Holes Barred XMAS Special. German label Kompakt will be joined by Jennifer Cardini and Melon before Thursday 17th sees the second installment of T Bar's new night, TB/SS, welcoming very special guests MJ Cole and Blakey. High Horse are saddling up and bringing festive gifts in the way of Panorama Bar's Steffi and Tamo Sumo. Konrad Black will be debuting at the new T BAR with his own A Night With... revealing his signature mix of dirty bass threads with atmospheric sounds. Creator of 2020 Soundsystem, deemed as one of the best electronic labels in the world Ralph Lawson will also be treating us to his trademark 2020sound. Finishing off this music marathon are Kubicle with US friends and beloved new residents, Wolf + Lamb, making it a night to remember for those still standing.

This year's 12 days.. truly presents some of the finest gourmet music from around the world and T BAR exercises its free door policy for the last time. So at a time when it's all about giving, we can all enjoy guilt-free partying at East London's best-loved space.

Following the 12 Days of T BAR the venue will move to a paying door policy for the first time. Much has changed since the T BAR began, London has evolved and so must T BAR to stay at the top of the game. Thursdays and Sundays will continue to remain free but Friday and Saturdays will charge a nominal fee after 11pm to enable bigger artist bookings and investment in better surroundings. T BAR will begin to stay open later, giving more in return to our friends and extended family. Not the end but a bright new beginning, this step welcomes new opportunities for T BAR and its valued followers.

A few months ago we launched 'inhouse', a weekly party every Tuesday for anyone working in the bar and club industry. We want it to be the place for bar staff to make up for having to work all weekend.

Along with offering membership and weekly promotions we are also looking for any DJs and producers to submit demos for possible selection to play on one of the nights.

Audio-visual party poppers, Digital City return to the all new T Bar with our unique brand of swanked-up warehouse revelry. And boy, do we return with a treat. When a young producer by the name of Jon Hopkins first played for us, he commuted from his mum’s house in the countryside. This time he returns from Sydney where he’s been playing in the Opera House in a one-off band with Brian Eno and Underworld.

Support comes from Digital City’s resident DJs, BarryDark, Tentonatom and Remote fusing all that is electronic from afro to electro. Flanked by a matrix of projection screens, the visual quality is represented by Big Chill resident VJ, Dr Mo and Parallax. This is a rare (legal) Digital City foray into East London, having started life in the bedraggled penthouse of an industrial tower block overlooking Canary Wharf many moons (and spangled dawns) ago.

Sunday 26th July sees the launch of Shoplifter with Intergalactic Gary, Craig Richards and Derren Smart, a sound excursion through the realms of disco and all things alternative.

With each party there will be a vinyl release of a selected re-edit created by Shoplifter, only 200 copies will be released, a different re-edit will exist with each happening.

Each monthly episode will delve into the fraudulent musical souls of Shoplifter guests alongside founders Craig Richards, Derren Smart and Jamie Jones, exploring a new frontier of disreputable delights.

Over the past few years, The Unabombers have spread the Electriks vibe across the globe, DJing everywhere from New York to Bangkok to Australia. They also have residencies in Barcelona and Paris. Back home, they've played at clubs including Plastic People, Back To Basics, Fabric, Faith, Bugged Out, The Bomb and festivals such as Homelands, T-In-The-Park and Creamfields.

The Unabombers also brought us the legendary Electric Souls, which started as infamous illegal parties in brothels and lofts, but has now mutated into a large annual event that brings together the cream of the world’s underground dance talent, from Amp Fiddler to Gilles Peterson to Theo Parrish to Joey Negro.

They have also encapsulated their mystic brew on four compilation albums – Basement Soul, Saturday Night Sunday Morning, Electric Soul and Electric Soul 2 - as well as completing remixes for Truby Trio, New Sector Movements, Jersey Street, Calvin Harris and Shur-I-Kan. They are currently in the studio working on their own productions, with an EP due in the summer, and are set to bring a storm to T BAR'S tea cup on Thursday night.

Regularirregular is our newly launched team that promises to bring out - of - the - ordinary events to the nightlife of London. As lovers of the broad spectrum of creative arts; music, visual art, literature, fashion, architecture, film, we aim to provide a platform for interaction between people, sound, space and objects and foremost to dance and have fun. Evolving around 'irregular; concepts/themes, we desire to create what will become your 'regular' Thursday night destinations.

We welcome people of all creative disciplines to share ideas and become part of our exploration and most importantly we invite you to join our 'regularirregular' nights for untamed partying!

Regularirregular is ‘Nikos and Jojo’ aka 'Nikos καί Jojo' with the former being a dj and an event organizer for more than a decade and the latter being a designer, pianist and singer, who over the years has successfully infiltrated in the worlds of fashion and creative arts. On this project, it is our great pleasure to work with passionate and highly creative people, who will demonstrate their work in a regularirregular way. There will be a regular team working with us and throughout time more irregular innovative people will be called in to active roles.

As promised, Regularirregular is here, ready to become your regular Thursday night destination. Our events will be hosted on a bimonthly basis (for the summer period), on the last Thursday of every other month at London’s favorite Tbar. The opening event is titled ‘The Maze' and it will be a night of audio-visual content. Regularirregular are proud to host an array of skillful artists to lead you in the maze.

Nikos will be in charge of the music. He will be accompanied by one of London's finest dj/musician/promoter/urban figure, Giles Smith of secretsundaze & Dessous fame. They will lead your steps whilst being stunned by the skillfully crafted visual installation of OS7879 and Iro Tsavala. Iro is an artist working across a range of mediums. Her main tools are drawing and the moving image, which she uses in different ways to deal with projects in original and often unexpected ways. OS7879 is an artistic group committed to producing site-specific work across a range of media. Together, they aim to explore and celebrate space and place using architecture, image and sound. They work on site-responsive, interdisciplinary pieces, exploring diverse contexts and spaces, to create new forms of cultural experience.

Announcing a genre busting evening beginning with London’s first vinyl auction night. Swayzak and salubrious guests will bring down some fine vintage (and not so vintage) cuts to sell to the highest bidder, followed by a range of deep dark and moody house, brooding techno, italo disco, noisecore, spoken word, dubstep and general electronica madness to make up a Sericulture night. The auction is for vinyl only and only vinyl shall be played! So leave yer laptops at home......

Announcing the official opening party of London's new home for T Bar.

On Thursday 7th May two of the key figures of the current electronic music scene, Cologne's Michael Mayer and London's Jamie Jones, will join us to celebrate the unveiling of the new space T has made its home. These two artists that have been a special part of the history of T Bar will be throwing the doors open to the public to share the start of a new future.

Four London disc-jockeys, Matt Walsh, Casper C and the Skull Juice boys, woke up in a spontaneous cold sweat one night. Sure, they were regularly playing at some of their favourite nights, from Bugged Out to Blogger's Delight, Durrr to Trailer Trash, Wax On, Wet Yourself and all over Europe. But it was time for these young men to find the time and the place for those 'deeper', 'darker' records that all four had been fanatically collecting and compiling for years. It was time for them to mount their High Horse.

From cult beginnings, on a monthly thursday at the legendary T Bar, High Horse has grown into a weekly Friday fixture at the newly relaunched T, just down the road in Houndsditch. The aim of the residency is to assimilate the four disparate flavours that the residents bring, in at attempt to present a broad spectrum of discerning dance music. Guests confirmed so far include the maverick genius of Optimo's JD Twitch, the sophisticated low-end sounds of Dirtybird's Tim Green and Riva Starr, a rare live appearance from deep-house dons Arto Mwambe and a regular showcase from label of the moment, Turbo.

Dance music is going through a transitional purple patch right now, with all manner of new sounds occurring between the cornerstones of disco, house and techno. High Horse is the night which aims to celebrate the new while harking back to the classic. Hop on!

Dissident.london presents Chicago Style - the first in a series of monthly parties celebrating the music that inspires the label.

Thursday May 21st at T Bar:
Dissident artists Andy Blake and Neville Watson in a 6 hour DJ and drum machine session.

It's fair to say that Dissident is hugely influenced by the Chicago house scene of the early 80s, when Ron Hardy was playing all night sets of early skeletal house grooves, warped acid tracks, thumping US disco 12s, weird euro pop and italo disco (including a particular thing he seemed to have for very strange european rap records) and when WBMX and the Hot Mix 5 ruled the airwaves and Alexander Robotnick's ‘Problems d'amour’ was a daytime radio smash. This period in the history of chicago house was a golden era for dance music that has massively influenced everything that has followed it.

Andy and Neville are both massive fans of this wide-ranging early house sound and have the record collections to prove it. As well as wheeling out a ton of original vinyl for this night they will be bringing their beloved Roland tr808 and tr707 drum machines to add to the groove. These two machines form the backbone of the early house sound and it’s only right and proper that they take centre stage in the night's proceedings.

While this night is most certainly a tribute to the warped genius of Ron Hardy and the early Chicago house scene in general, the music will not be any kind of static retro museum piece. As well as loads of music from the era including many amazing pieces of music that are all but lost and unknown these days) there will be plenty of aptly chosen later music including some bang up to date releases and maybe even some unreleased exclusives from Andy & Neville's current solo and joint projects.

As with all Dissident productions, only original vinyl will be played on the night to ensure optimum sound quality and this time the records will be joined by the majestic sound of analogue drum machines booming out from a huge Funktion one sound system.

"For me, the T Bar always represented the ultimate techno palace. I love the idea of an eternally free venue with a strong musical identity, with everybody sitting, dancing, drinking and socialising on the same level. It was a pure dancefloor democracy. Getting the opportunity to play regularly at T, the name High Horse immediately came to mind, as it represented an opportunity for 4 young DJs to play the deeper, housier, techier and less obvious records that don't always work in lesser venues. Now that we're going weekly in the new venue, we'll truly be able to paint a picture of the music we love for a crowd that should truly appreciate it. Here's to Houndsditch!"

of the first nights and from this moment on I was shown great hospitality . It was an easy place to be and an easy place to play records, my friends were made welcome, my good behaviour was celebrated and my bad behaviour suffered and at times ignored. I

You could tell walking into the new space that something exciting is going to happen there. It had the T Bar vibe perfectly. Always great to see London clubland evolving after recent closures. And rather than running East away from the city, running right into the heart of it. Good luck to Derren and all involved, we are very pleased to be onboard.”

“T Bar pretty much started my DJ career in the capital... I used to run a night on Wednesdays and was then asked to play on a one off Monday night with Tiga for Bugged Out! It was one of the busiest nights the bar had ever had, with a queue right down Shoreditch High Street. It was a great night for me and because of it I am now a resident for Tiga's label, Bugged Out, and have been producing records for Turbo and DJing across the world with them."

Following an ambush of endings in London’s nightlife, we are pleased to announce a bright new beginning…

T Bar’s 5 -year residence on Shoreditch High Street came to a tearful end in December 2008. During its reign it hosted some of the most talked about parties in London and beyond. Showcasing a unique and vast army of talent and all without ever charging for admission.

T begins a new era maintaining this charitable spirit. A stones-throw from its old haunt within the city fringes, T has found a new home. The new chapter will stay open later and offer the full nightclub experience, while still maintaining FREE entry.

T prepares to peer into new musical corners while also bringing back some old friends and familiar faces. Maintaining the intimate and spontaneous vibe of the last episode, T is growing up and diving into fresh territories.
